The process industries (chemical, petrochemical, refining and biotechnical, among others) are struggling to achieve sustainable profitability and growth and it is broadly accepted that the ability of an organization to innovate is a key determinant of success. Therefore, it is my intention from time to time to post items that I think will be helpful to those of you who are involved in managing your organization's technological position. Some of the possible types of items I am considering are:
