Areas of consulting include all aspects of general management, as well as R&D planning and management, process and catalyst technology evaluation, technology licensing in and out, patent analysis, mergers and acquisitions, market studies and strategic planning.
President and Founder - January 2001 to present
   Dr. Porcelli uses his technical expertise and management experience to aid his clients in their efforts to manage their technology portfolios and their businesses. He has a large formal and informal network of other consultants, experts and colleagues who are available as necessary to supplement his efforts in support of his organization´s clients.

 
Scientific Design Company, Inc., Little Ferry, NJ
   A leading innovator and provider of catalyst and process technologies for the worldwide chemical industry, owned since 1988 by Linde AG.
President and CEO - 1988-2000
   Full P&L responsibility, reporting to the Managing Director of Linde Engineering/Contracting division of Linde AG. Major accomplishments were the development of two international technology alliances that strengthened the competitive position of the company in its most important product lines. Other successes included the revitalization of the company, particularly with respect to strengthening its research and development activities, and implementing ISO 9002 registration.

 
ChemSystems, Inc., White Plains, NY
   One of the premier international consulting firms, serving the world-wide chemical and allied industry, by carrying out single client technical and business assignments as well as multiclient studies and international seminars.
Director, Process Evaluation/Research Planning - 1987-1988
   P&L responsibility for the PE/RP multiclient report service. Arranged and chaired international technical seminars and participated in and led a number of single client consulting assignments.

 
The Halcon SD Group, Inc., Montvale, NJ, and New York City
   A pre-eminent entrepreneurial organization with an unequaled success record in carrying out research and development, licensing, engineering/construction and investment in the international petrochemical field. Halcon was privately held from its founding in 1946 until 1982, when purchased by Texas Eastern Corporation.
President - 1985-1987
   Leadership and P&L responsibility for this 600-person, diversified subsidiary of Texas Eastern, reporting to the Vice Chairman. Major accomplishments were the reduction of operating losses, re-organization of the group, refocusing research objectives and improving R&D productivity. Carried out the sale of parts of the company and packages of technology when Texas Eastern´s objectives changed.

 
Summary of Prior Experience with The Halcon SD Group
   Participated and later supervised various R&D functions including research guidance, translation of lab data into plant designs, technical sales support, and process control/simulation. Also had major responsibility for key ethylene oxide technology. Consulted on plant startups and troubleshooting and served as Chief Operator for plant startups in the US, Europe and Japan. He was responsible for arranging and moderating tri-annual international EO Licensees meetings.
